Watch: Rolling Stones put on suprise perfomance featuring Lady Gaga at Hackney Diamonds album launch in New York

The Rolling Stones played a surprise set at Racket NYC in New York last night in celebration of their highly anticipated upcoming album Hackney Diamonds – the first LP of original material from the legendary band in eighteen years.

An unsurprisingly star-studded affair with DJ Questlove on the decks, the party quickly transformed into a rock show when Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood took the stage to perform 7 songs from the new album and iconic hits – 'Shattered','Angry', 'Whole Wide World', 'Tumbling Dice', 'Bite My Head Off' and 'Jumpin’ Jack Flash',  as Lady Gaga joined the band on stage to perform their single 'Sweet Sounds of Heaven' to a packed house.

Guests in attendance included Jimmy Fallon, Trevor Noah, Daniel Craig, Mary Kate Olsen, Elvis Costello and many more.

The 12-track album was recorded in various locations around the world, including L.A, New York, The Bahamas and London.  Late drummer Charlie Watts is featured on two tracks, ‘Mess It Up’ and ‘Live By The Sword.’ ‘Live By The Sword’ additionally features bass from former Stones bassist Bill Wyman.

The record also comes with some superstar features. ‘Sweet Sounds Of Heaven’ contains vocals from Lady Gaga and keys & piano from Stevie Wonder, ‘Get Close’ and ‘Live By The Sword’ boast piano from Elton John, while ‘Bite My Head Off’ has bass playing none other than Paul McCartney.
