David Keenan documentary to have Irish premiere at Docs Ireland in Belfast
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with David Keenan and director Paddy Hayes.
Following screenings in the US earlier this year, David Keenan: Focla Ar Chanbhás/Words on Canvas is set to have its Irish premiere at this year's edition of Docs Ireland, taking place in Belfast from June 23–29.
The documentary film, directed by Paddy Hayes, will be screened at the festival on June 26, at the Oh Yeah! Music Centre. After the film, Paddy and David will take part in a Q&A session.
"Four years after the breakthrough success of his debut album Beginner’s Guide to Bravery, Dundalk songwriter, musician, and composer, David Keenan, is at a crossroads," the description of the film reads. "After touring extensively and building a reputation as one of Ireland’s leading live performers, he returns to the studio to record new music..."
The film also includes conversations and performances with the likes of Liam Ó Maonlaí, Jinx Lennon, Megan Nic Ruairí, and Seamas Hyland.
Tickets for the Belfast screening are available here.
